Privacy policy

This policy explains what Nuxused collects, why, and what we do with it. It covers nuxused.com, the Nuxused web dashboard at api.nuxused.com, and the Nuxused Teacher and Nuxused Parent & Student mobile apps.
Who controls the data
For the records inside a school — students, guardians, staff, attendance, marks and fees — the school is the data controller and Nuxused is the processor. The school decides what is entered and who may see it. We process it on the school’s instructions to provide the service.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email or username, phone number where the school provides one, role and the school the account belongs to.
- School records the school enters: student and guardian profiles, staff records, timetables, attendance, marks, fee and payment records, homework and submissions, notes and announcements.
- Technical data needed to run the service: IP address, device and browser type, and server logs of requests, kept for security and troubleshooting.
- Files uploaded by users, such as documents, homework attachments and profile photos.
The marketing site you are reading sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. It is static HTML.
What the mobile apps collect
The apps collect nothing beyond what you enter and what is needed to sign you in. Specifically:
- They store your session token on the device so you are not signed out between uses.
- They do not collect contacts, location, call logs, SMS or advertising identifiers.
- Camera and photo access is requested only when you attach a file or set a profile photo, and only at that moment.
- Push notification tokens are stored, where you enable notifications, so the school can reach you.
How we use it
- To provide the service the school signed up for and to authenticate users.
- To send notifications the school triggers — announcements, results, fee reminders.
- To keep the service secure, diagnose faults and prevent abuse.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use school data to train models or to target advertising.
Who it is shared with
Within a school, access follows the role and the relationship: a teacher sees their classes, a guardian sees only the children linked to them, a student sees only themselves. Across schools there is no sharing at all — a user in one school cannot reach another school’s data. Beyond that we share only with infrastructure providers that host the service and with email and SMS providers that deliver notifications, each under contract and only as needed.
Where it is stored, and for how long
Data is held in an encrypted database on servers we operate, with traffic encrypted in transit over TLS and regular backups. We keep school records for as long as the school’s account is active. When an account closes, the school may request an export, after which the data is deleted within 90 days unless the school asks us to retain it or the law requires otherwise.
Children’s data
Nuxused holds records about children because schools run on them. A student account is created by the school, not by the child, and its reach is limited to that student’s own record. Parents and guardians may ask their school to see, correct or remove their child’s data — the school is the right first point of contact, and we will help the school act on it.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to how it is processed. If you are a student, guardian or staff member, raise it with your school first, since the school controls the record. If you cannot reach them, write to us at nuxused@gmail.com and we will help.
Account and data deletion
To delete a mobile app account, ask your school administrator to remove the login — the underlying student or staff record belongs to the school. To delete an entire school account and its data, email nuxused@gmail.com from the address on the school’s administrator account.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top and notify school administrators.
